Jose Mourinho reveals he gave up the chance to go to Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz Jr fight to lead Spurs out against Burnley TOTTENHAM’S 5-0 romp over Burnley saw Jose Mourinho’s side score five goals in his fifth game in charge – something he NEVER achieved with Manchester United. His United side boasted the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial – but couldn’t bag five in a match.2 Mourinho couldn’t hide his delight as Spurs smashed Burnley 5-0Credit: ReutersThe most the Red Devils managed in Mourinho’s 93 games in charge was four, on 14 occasions. In fact, it was the first time one of his team’s has bagged five in a match since January 2015 when his Chelsea team beat Swansea 5-0 on the way to the league title. The football at Old Trafford towards the end of his tenure had grown dour. But with Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Dele Alli in blistering form this afternoon, Spurs looked like scoring every time they went forward.Skipper Kane gave them the perfect start when he smashed one in from outside the box after just four minutes, with Lucas Moura doubling the lead after nine.Son then stole the show with a sublime solo goal, running the length of the field before slotting past Nick Pope after 32 minutes.Kane made it four early in the second, before a second Moussa Sissoko goal in the last two home games rounded off the rout.A delighted Jose Mourinho lavished praise on Son for his wondergoal after the match. He said: “Even before the goal, my son calls him Sonaldo after Ronaldo Luís Nazário.2MOST READ IN FOOTBALLGossipCROWD RETURNFA Cup final ‘may see 20,000 at Wembley in trial allowing some fans at games’CommentPHIL THOMASDiving and whining was never a good look and will seem worse after lockdownExclusive’I’M IN A BAD WAY’Ex-England star Kenny Sansom talks for first time since being attackedExclusiveBOURNE AGAINHowe says Cherries are stronger after lockdown with FIVE fit-again starsExclusiveSWAN THAT GOT AWAYSwansea wanted £3m Davies three years ago but couldn’t get work permitNEXT STEPJonny Hayes set to move to English Championship having been let go by CelticBAYERN 5 DUSSELDORF 0Lewa bags two as Bayern thump rivals to close on 8th straight titleTHEIR CALLReferees in Northern Ireland will be given choice on coming back says union bossHARRY ALL FOUR ITKane admits Spurs must win EIGHT games to rise into Champions League spotLive BlogTOON LATESTNewcastle takeover LIVE: Follow all the latest updates in Saudi saga”The only thing that comes to my mind is the goal when I had the honour of being next to Sir Bobby Robson in 1996 when Ronaldo scored a wonderful goal.”From the outside I had a feeling. No need to panic…yetWhile the Storm and Dragons have jumped out to great starts in 2017 – they theoretically need just six wins from 17 matches to make the finals – it’s a different story for those sides rooted to the bottom of the ladder. The Knights and Titans are long-odds to make the playoffs, but there is hope for teams like Penrith and the Tigers. The Panthers found themselves 3-4 last year but still finished sixth. The Cowboys lost their opening three games in 2015 but went on to win the premiership. The Eels started the 2009 season with a 2-5 record but made the grand final, while the blue and golds were 3-10 in 2006 but recovered to finish eighth. Freaky FridayNot since the days of Kiefer Sutherland have we seen the number ’24’ appear so often on our screens. Incredibly, all three winners on Friday – the Bulldogs, Roosters and Broncos – scored exactly 24 points in their respective matches. Just for good measure, the Titans also won with a score of 24 in the Holden Cup on Friday while the Bunnies were beaten but still scored four converted tries. Second-half struggles are real If NRL games were played over 40 minutes then we might have had some very different results in Round 7. The Rabbitohs and Warriors both held slender half-time leads but failed to score a point after the break. It was a similar story for the Storm and Dragons who piled on the points in the first-half but couldn’t add to their tallies in the second stanza. Thankfully the top two teams did enough in the first 40 minutes to hold on for victory. Started from the bottom now we’re hereThe Dragons’ resurgence in 2017 has been compared to plenty of things, but this is probably the first time they’ve been likened to hip-hop sensation Drake. Let’s start with the basics: the Dragons wear red and white; Drake is Canadian and the colours on their flag are red and white. The Red V won their most recent premiership in 2010, the same year that Drake released his debut album. The Dragons had the worst attack after seven rounds last year (59 points) but they are first in 2017 with 191, so just like Drake said, they started from the bottom but now they’re here. And if you want one last reminder why the two are so similar, we’re hearing that after their 6-1 start to the year, the Dragons have adopted Drake’s ‘YOLO’ motto – You Only Lose Once! No cracks in Cronulla’s wall Tipped by many to struggle in 2017 after tasting premiership success last year, the Sharks have shown they are the real deal with back-to-back defensive shutouts against pre-season favourites the Storm and Panthers. While they did concede a penalty goal in each of the away wins, it was the first time since the final two rounds of the 1994 season that Cronulla had held opponents tryless in consecutive matches. Titanic strugglesThe Titans were undoubtedly the unluckiest team of the weekend to fall at the death to the Broncos. Incredibly, it was the sixth time in a row Gold Coast had lost against their neighbours when leading at half-time.It was a slightly different yet equally pertinent case of history repeating for the Knights who were held scoreless in the first half for the fourth-straight match by the Roosters.First-half field goals prove fatalWhen will teams learn? You never kick a field goal against the Bulldogs before half-time. Adam Reynolds knocked over a one-pointer in the 40th minute on Friday to give his side a 9-8 lead; the Rabbitohs never scored again. Jordan Kahu did the same thing a few weeks ago, only for the Broncos to squander a 7-0 half-time lead to go down 10-7. Brett Finch must have thought his first-half field goal in the 2004 grand final was a good idea at the time. It wasn’t. A 13-6 lead quickly evaporated and the Roosters lost 16-13. Incidentally, all of those games were played at ANZ Stadium. Weekend forecastEveryone has this theory that the Storm struggle against the Warriors, but they’ve won the past three head-to-head meetings and have also won three of the past four Anzac Day clashes, including a 42-0 thumping in 2016. The Eels and Panthers will do battle at ANZ Stadium for the first time since Round 1, 2001 when the blue and golds claimed an easy 40-4 win. Penrith have struggled at the venue in recent times, losing four straight – and 10 of their past 12 – at the Olympic stadium.

Unai Núñez has informed Athletic that he will not leave in this winter market. In the club there was uncertainty about this, since they knew that there were clubs willing to pay the termination clause of the plant (30 million) before the market closed. However, the canterano has decided to continue in San Mamés. To that end, its change of role in the team has been fundamental. In January, the center has started four of the six games played by Athletic. That totally changed his way of seeing things. He never wanted to leave the club that formed him, but with his age (22 years) he needs minutes. The change of Garitano’s system has been fundamental to make Núñez hollow in the eleven. He has gone on to play with three centrals and two lanes. Íñigo Martínez and Yeray are indisputable, something Núñez knew. Therefore, the system change was the only formula to make room in the team. Athletic has shown excellent performance with this change in training, something that suggests that Núñez will be a very important footballer by the end of the season. The central has renounced important offers. West Ham was willing to pay its termination clause, but it wasn’t the only one. Bayern has also knocked on his door (although he preferred to incorporate it in June) and other greats from England and Germany have also been interested in him. Therefore, although its exit in this market is already completely ruled out, Athletic knows that many of the greats in Europe follow the track of a central whose clause of 30 million makes it very appealing. On the other hand, this role of Núñez in Athletic makes it a fixture for Luis de la Fuente for the Olympic Games next summer. This was one of the main concerns of the central, which after being a key piece in the U21 Eurocup in which the ticket was achieved did not want to run out of the prize of playing an Olympic Games. In addition, he knows that he also has options to sneak into the Eurocup list if he maintains this level in Athletic …
Important cloth for Josep Maria Bartomeu, president of Barça, in the moments before Barcelona-Eibar. Unexpectedly despite the I3 Ventures scandal (it was speculated that with the number of tourists that populate the Camp Nou every weekend did not happen), the Camp Nou demonstrated against the president. The exit of the team was accompanied by a wash. Not exaggerated, but important enough to generate debate. While some taught handkerchiefs at the Camp Nou, other members responded with whistles. The matter went to more. There were shouts of “directive, resignation”, which were answered more loudly by the stands. Soto Grado seemed to collaborate, because the match did not start until after 4:05 p.m. The goal annulled at Eibar at the start of the match also multiplied the protests and customized them. “Bartomeu, resignation”, was heard from the Grada D’Animació of the Gol Nord del Camp Nou. The screams were answered again by another part of the stands. The Camp Nou, in short, was an open space for debate that demonstrated the division of Barcelona these days and, above all, the demonstration that the I3 Ventures scandal has not gone unnoticed by Barça’s partner, which has detected bad practice in contracting the services of a company that created Facebook accounts to erode the image of even current players in the team. A serious offense that has already been claimed by a victim, Jaume Masferrer, head of the presidency department, and that, in effect boomerang, has undermined the image of those responsible for the club, now forced to do an internal investigation and debug responsibilities, but noted already for potential voters disappointed with their behavior.
David Ferrer, In cabin. And no, it received’t be like a DJ. And is that the Alicante, already away from the competitors since final 12 months, might be like ESPN commentator at the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco (February 24 to March 1). As well as, this contest is the one which extra instances he has received the one in Javea all through his sports activities profession alongside Auckland. It was certainly one of the final appointments Ferrer had final season throughout his farewell tour, earlier than lastly hanging the racket, so now the circle is closed for him in Mexico with the narrator Luis Alfredo Álvarez, who took the alternative to welcome him on Twitter earlier than his debut.
