(Photo by Marc Serota/Getty Images)Last weekend featured two giant SEC match-ups between top 10 teams. Unfortunately, that has also brought on stories of situations that have gone too far in relation to the games. On Tuesday, an Alabama fan died after injuries sustained in a bar fight outside of Baton Rouge. It is unclear if the fight was directly related to the Crimson Tide game at LSU, but the timing doesn’t look great either way.In Georgia, there was a domestic incident between a woman and her father, that appeared to stem from frustrations that he was watching the Georgia football game.28-year old Tambria Chaprii Palmer attempted to change the channel off of Georgia’s game against Kentucky. According to a report, when he would not let her, she got a gun, and shot at him.Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident involving the Georgia football fan. From The Telegraph:Palmer grabbed the remote control and changed the channel while her father, Darrell Palmer, was watching the Bulldogs play the Kentucky Wildcats, according to the Baldwin County sheriff’s office incident report. The two started arguing and Darrell Palmer turned off the television, prompting his daughter to try to turn it back on but he blocked her.He told investigators “his daughter then began cussing at him and attempted to hit him in the face,” the report stated. He grabbed his daughter and sat her on the couch but she continued “cussing” before he let her get up. She went to the bedroom stating “she was going to send everyone in the house to hell,” according to her parents’ account shared in the report. From there, she went and retrieved and hand gun and fired shots at her parents, luckily missing every time as they ran to escape the home. She allegedly pointed the gun and fired a shot, which sent her father scrambling to get out of the house.Tambria Palmer’s mother, Le’Trice Palmer, was holding her newborn granddaughter when she heard two shots and ran out of the house. As Le’Trice Palmer headed across the front yard and toward the neighbor’s house, Tambria Palmer was chasing her and continuing to fire the gun. Le’Trice Palmer fell multiple times while dodging the bullets.Palmer was arrested on six counts of aggravated assault, four counts of cruelty to children, and a count of reckless conduct. Obviously, it doesn’t seem like football had much to do the the underlying issues here, and just set the scene for the terrifying incident.Hopefully the family is okay after this scary situation.[The Telegraph]last_img read more
