UWI awaiting formal police update on female body found in pond

The senior management of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona says it is awaiting a formal report from the police regarding the discovery of a body on the campus this morning.According to the online edition of the Jamaica Observer, the body of the female was discovered in a pond near the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Center. The incident was reported at approximately 7:45 a.m.The university, in a statement a short while ago, said a preliminary assessment of the scene revealed that the body was fully clad and partially submerged.The police are awaiting members of the Technical Service Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to process the scene, the UWI said.It also disclosed that the scene was visited by the director of security who gave further instructions and deployed campus security officers around the scene to assist with crowd control, the Jamaica Observer stated.
