Improper 911 calls bugging police

Calls to  911 for what are clearly non-emergency situations continue to bug Norfolk OPP.A Simcoe man called 911 looking for police assistance after he saw some bugs inside of his home in the early morning hours on Monday.Accidental calls or abuse of 911 could result in the slower response to a real emergency, risking the safety of people who may need urgent help.“The OPP is urging all Norfolk County residents to use 911 when there is an emergency,” Norfolk OPP Inspector Joseph Varga said in a media release.However, for non-emergency calls, residents need to call police at 1-888-310-1122.
